In the spring, our eyes are often drawn to flashy flowers like tulips, daffodils, and crocuses. But so much more is happening, and expanding your vision to the subtler hues can bring other gifts, including sweet salad greens and heightened awareness. Nance Klehm, soil ecologist and professional forager, is leading an experiential walk in Humboldt Park to help people connect with and participate in the new growth. The group will learn about local edible and medicinal plants, soil health, and more! The walk will begin at the Boathouse in Humboldt Park. Nance Klehm has been running urban plant walks for more than 20 years and has deep experience with botany and ecology. To learn more about Nance and her work, check out socialecologies.net.
Following the event, artist and Indo-tibetan meditation teacher, Lindsey Dorr-Niro, will lead a short meditation workshop continuing the theme of expansion.
Rain or shine! We will be there unless there is severely inclement weather.
This event will be canceled in the event fewer than 6 people sign up.
Please bring a jar or cup to try local teas with herbs grown and foraged by Nance!
