Many of us have been in a yoga class or massage and have been invited to "notice what you feel" or asked "how are you feeling right now?" And many of us have discovered we arent quite sure how to answer that. The practices of mindfulness and somatics invite us to observe and feel sensations as a way to open the lines of communication with our body....which is easier said than done! Witnessing our body and listening to it is a practice that takes time and patience. There are tools we can use to support ourselves along the way and in this workshop we will utilize some of these tools. You can expect practices that will feel similar to meditation, mindfulness, visualization, mindful breathing and self touch. We will discuss the vocabulary of sensation and learn how to begin the process of intentional listening. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring something to write in and a pen.
