Embodied Dry Brush Creation and Lymphatic Drainage Practice

  • Five Point Holistic Health 2866 North Milwaukee Avenue Chicago, IL, 60618 United States (map)

Join Dr. Megan Robertson and Rhonan Tenney-Allen for an afternoon that focuses on how dry brushing can help to support our immune systems throughout the winter!

This workshop has three parts:

  • Plant Connection & Knowledge Share:  Connect with the dry brush materials - hemp and agave - through a knowledge share and  guided meditation

  • Brush making: Make your own dry brush with natural materials

  • Home Practices: Once your dry brush is made, learn techniques for dry brushing at home

The workshop will run from 1-3:00 PM. Foraged, immune-system-supportive tea and materials will be provided. Bring scissors if you have a strong pair, otherwise we will share. Wear layers to ensure comfort during each part of the workshop.

Facilitators

  • The meditations and lymphatic drainage session will be led by Dr. Megan Robertson, PT, DPT, a local Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, who uses dry brushing and other lymphatic drainage techniques as well as embodiment techniques to support her patients in healing.

  • The crafting portion will be lead by Rhonan Tenney-Allen, a local crafts person and ancestral skills teacher. Rhonan has embodied earth-centered living since he was a small child and has been practicing ancestral skills, such as friction fire, cordage making, basket making, hide tanning and more since he was a teenager.
