Sarah Macias
Physical Therapist, RYT-200
Growing up as a dancer, Sarah developed an early appreciation for the human body and became mesmerized by the art of movement. She began her career as a Physical Therapist in 2004 and spent many years specializing in orthopedic care and sports injuries. In 2020, she turned her studies to pelvic health and perinatal care, and in 2022 Sarah earned her certification as a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist. She continues to work as a PT specializing in orthopedics, perinatal care and pelvic health for all bodies. She is passionate about bringing her education in anatomy and biomechanics to the practice of yoga.
Sarah’s early relationship with yoga was very casual, an outlet to fill the space that dancing once took up. However, after a battle with breast cancer she turned to yoga to heal her body and was blown away by the mental and emotional benefits that the practice provided. This experience motivated her to dive deeper into the practice and led her to Bloom Yoga Studio where she completed her 200hr Teacher Training.
Sarah is passionate about using her education and experience to help facilitate this journey for others. She believes that the mind-body connection is paramount in healing and is in constant awe how yoga supports this connection. Sarah’s goal is to share this knowledge with her students in order to empower them to utilize yoga for prevention, wellness and healing.
