Sense:

These classes will focus on methods and principles for first increasing capacity of sensing and listening deeply into the body and changes in joints and muscles.

Connect:

Each class will have a small set of exercises that we explore, we will gradually build awareness of chains of movement and how they affect the joints and muscles both in stretching and stabilizing.

Integrate:

By the end of each class we will aim to for an increased sense of full body integration even with simple movements.

The above principles have a profound effect of helping people come into better contact with their own body.  With that improved contact comes a reduction in stress and strain on the system. Improving the global connection of simple movements allows for self care practice to become more effective and efficient with longer lasting results.

For those who have already had sessions with Nathan will understand the difference in knowledge and experience he brings to movement and awareness of the deep and subtle changes inside the body.

In this class, questions, inquiry and dynamic feedback are highly encouraged.  The hope is that people will use these classes as a way to build a tool set for their own self care and home practice.

NATHAN PAULUS (he/Him)

Bodyworker, Licensed Massage Therapist, Five Point Member-Owner

Nathan Paulus uses a combination of Shiatsu, Tui Na, acupressure and trigger point therapy in his sessions. His strong ability to sense and move energy comes from long-standing Yoga and Tai Chi practice. Sessions usually favor deeper connection to the subtle body, or rehabilitating the muscular body and structural issues. The treatments almost always include some form of Yoga for diagnosis, treatment positions, homework and self-care. Nathan is a believer in an individual’s capacity for self-healing, rather than relying on the notion of being “fixed” by someone else. His treatments are designed to improve and compliment the process of self- healing.
